Get to know Mountain Creek Hollow
Ever wondered where creeks and hollows come from? Creeks flow out of hollows into bigger creeks or rivers, getting bigger as they go, and the hollows get wider at their end (or beginning, depending on one's perspective), and that's called the mouth. The other end is where the mountains that form the borders of the hollow come together...and the further you go, the higher and narrower the hollow becomes. When you get to the top, that's the head, and several hollows will head up in the same general area.

Fausett Creek is the creek that runs through Mountain Creek Hollow. It begins its life in a hollow east of here just north of Pleasant Valley Road and west of Orchard Road. From there it travels down the hollow until it merges with Talona Creek and eventually empties into Carter’s Lake. The beauty of Fausett Creek is breathtaking. Its wide banks serve as nature’s greenhouse where a variety of plant life such as native azalea, rhododendron, hemlocks and water oak, and a number of species of ferns all thrive on its rich soil and abundant water. Its rushing waters also sooth our souls and provide nourishment to the deer and other wildlife that grace us with their presence.

Fausett Creek is only one reason why Mountain Creek Hollow is a special place to live. The main reason of course, is that we are a warm, friendly community that takes pride in the park like setting we are so lucky to call home. As our community continues to grow, it is our hope that we will all work toward keeping Mountain Creek Hollow as one of the most sought after addresses in our area.
